Jun Shihan Katie O’Donnell (6th Dan)

I began my Seido Karate journey in 1988, with Eikoh Hanshi Andy Barber at Nelson Shibu, achieving Shodan in 1996, and promotion to Rokudan in 2021. I have had the good fortune to train in several different Seido Dojos around the country, and Australia, making treasured, lifelong friendships. Over the years, I have taught children’s, new beginners and general classes.

My philosophy of teaching is to create a safe, supportive and welcoming environment where everyone is encouraged to do, and be, their best and maintain Seido Karate principles, syllabus and technique. It is a privilege to be alongside people discovering inner strengths, resilience, a strong spirit.

The Friday lunchtime class caters to everyone – those wanting to get a bit more training in for the week, who want to return to their training, or who enjoy a workout to break up their working day!
