Jun Shihan Sharlene Baker (6th Dan)

My Seido Karate journey started in 1990 with Eiko Hanshi Andy Barber at Nelson shibu. I achieved Shodan in 2000 and most recently Jun Shihan in 2023.

I have been employed at Nelson Shibu for more than 28yrs on the front desk.

I assisted in children’s classes alongside Eiko Hanshi Andy for 20yrs. Now I teach the Wednesday 4pm Seido Super Kids’ class.

Children are an important part of the Dojo as they are our future. I love the interaction and energy children bring to the Dojo. My Seido philosophy for children is Kindness, respect for each other, confidence, to build healthy bodies and happy spirits.

The Wednesday 4pm Seido Super Kids’ class is for 5-8year olds. Parents are welcome and encouraged to join the class on the last Wednesday of each month.
