Eiko Hanshi.

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

Nidame A. Nakamura posted in World Seido karate Org Facebook. June 21 at 2:29pm.

On Saturday, June 18, I had the privilege of being part of a very intimate and historic honoring of the three highest-ranking members of our organization.

During our 1 hour and 10 minute meeting, we talked about the past, present, and future of Seido, as well as reminisce as we went through a prepared slideshow of photos going back decades. We concluded with Kaicho giving them the new title of Eiko Hanshi. This title is reserved for only these three and will never be given again. The kanji for “Ei“ means “eternal” or “everlasting” while the kanji for “Ko” means “light”. These three gentlemen have been by Kaicho’s side for over 5 decades and it was important for us to acknowledge their strength, perseverance, dedication to the art, contribution and positive impact they’ve individually had on the seido community and society at large, all while remaining humble and setting examples through action, not words.

Please join me in celebrating Eiko Hanshi Charles Martin, Eiko Hanshi Renzie Hanham, and Eiko Hanshi Andy Barber. May their everlasting light be a beacon for all members to look to for guidance in times of need. OSU!
